Grand Canyon University Costs Out-Of-State Tuition, And Financial Aid is Free.

Published

on

This guide will answer one question: How can you afford Grand Canyon University?

Planning for expenses is an essential part of the college application. You may need to realize how many things you will need to track to pay tuition and apply for financial aid.

What amount of financial aid do students at Grand Canyon University receive?

It might seem daunting to see the Cost of Attendance. The good news is that not all students have to pay the full cost of attending Grand Canyon University. Financial aid can help make the difference between what families can afford and the Cost of Attendance.

We’ll cover how many students receive financial aid from Grand Canyon University, the types they get, and how much.

A Brief Intro to Financial Aid

There are many types of aid, including:

  • Need-based grants
  • Scholarships based on merit
  • Student loans
  • These financial aids come from many places.
  • Federal assistance is either provided by the federal government or subsidized by it.
  • Your school offers institutional assistance.

It is generally better for more students to receive high financial aid. This means that students will pay less for college.

Let’s compare Grand Canyon University to other schools.

Global Aid

Let’s begin with the total numbers. Grand Canyon University knows this:

  • 98% of students get any aid
  • 98% Get ANY Grant Money
  • This is 25% higher than the 73% average for private for-profit schools.

It’s helpful to know how many students receive grant aid. However, knowing how much grant assistance people typically receive is also beneficial. The larger the grant award average, the better.

How many students end up borrowing money at Grand Canyon University?

  • 73% have ANY loan
  • This is 2% more than the 71% average for private for-profit schools.

Grand Canyon University has a high percentage of students who have loans. This is a red flag. This doesn’t necessarily mean students have high debts – we’ll answer that question shortly – but it does suggest that Grand Canyon University may be less affordable for average students.

This is why it’s important to know how much student debt an average person has. Next, we will examine student debt.

Federal Loans

Once you’ve got a good handle on Grand Canyon University’s loan information, let us get to the details about the types and amounts that students usually have.

Because federal loans are generally more attractive than private loans, we’ll begin with them. Federal loans have lower interest rates, which means they are more affordable over the long term. You may also be eligible for subsidization and loan forgiveness.

A high percentage or amount of federal loans is not necessarily a good sign. However, it’s important to remember that you want students to be able to handle the debt. Students with strong financial aid programs are more likely to have federal loans than private loans.

Let’s take a look at how Grand Canyon University compares:

73% have Federal Loans

Grand Canyon University has 73% of students take out federal loans. This is 22% more than the 71% average percentage of students who attend private for-profit schools.

Average Federal Loan: $6305

Grand Canyon University’s average federal loan amount per year is $6305. This is $1129 less than the $7434 average for private for-profit schools.

Other private loans

Private loans and other loans are not the best options for students who want to pay for college. These loans are the least preferred form of financial aid due to the higher interest rates and the high cost to students.

  • Grand Canyon University is more affordable if there are fewer students taking out private loans.
  • Let’s look at the percentage of students at Grand Canyon University who have non-federal loans.

Private Loans: 2%

Grand Canyon University has 2% of students who take out private loans. This is 5% lower than the average private for-profit school’s rate of 7%.

The average loan amount is just as necessary as the percentage of students who have private loans. The lower the average loan amount, the better.

Average private loan: $8145

Grand Canyon University’s average private loan amount is $8145. This is $3623 lower than the intermediate private for-profit school’s $11768.

This is a positive sign that students are more likely to get federal loans than private loans. This means that federal loans with lower interest are often enough to pay for Grand Canyon University.

  • Income, parental wages, and assets
  • Students’ wages, income, assets

It will take you 10-15 minutes to complete, and you’ll receive a special net price that is more accurate than the table.

Are You able to afford Grand Canyon University?

Once you have a Net price estimate, you can determine if your family can afford Grand Canyon University tuition and other costs. The Net Price, which is the total cost of attendance, less any aid (grants or scholarships), is once again the net price. This is the amount that you would have to pay.

“Ochsner Health couldn’t be more excited about participating in this innovative program to introduce more students to the wonderful world of perioperative services while also addressing the need to have more operating nurses in other parts of the Gulf South,” stated Tracey Moffatt (System Chief Nursing Officer and Vice President of Quality, Ochsner Health).
